Cookbook author Cathy Barrow (as seen on The Chew) shares her easy tips and tricks for curing your own bacon in just seven days.

We’ll talk about roasting vs. smoking bacon, how to slice and store this treasure, and how to make up your own savory or sweet cure. Then we will cook up the delicious, versatile condiment- Bacon Onion Jam- and use it as a filling for a cheesy appetizer tart.

Come to this demo class ready to talk about, taste, and make some bacon!

Cathy Barrow is the author of the food blog Mrs. Wheelbarrow’s Kitchen (www.mrswheelbarrow.com). The Huffington Post recently praised her new cookbook, Mrs. Wheelbarrow’s Practical Pantry, as “an astonishing collection of practical and essential preserving techniques, canning, brining, curing, cheesemaking for the modern kitchen and today’s cook”.
