Event Overview

The words "VEGAN", "VEGETARIAN", and "MEAT FREE" all sound scary to me. 20 years ago, my Italian grandfather was told he could no longer eat meat, he said "I'd rather die than to live in this hell you've created for me". Well, I'll end the story there.

I wish we had what we have now...

TVP - Textured Vegetable Protein is a wonderful plant-based ingredient to use in ground beef recipes. I’ll show you how. But what is it exactly? How to cook with it? Is it healthy, gluten-free, or vegan? What kind of easy TVP recipes should you try first? I have answers to every question you might have. This exciting class will amaze you and give you a better understanding of texture and mouth-feel vs. having the same feel from animal-based proteins. Think plants instead of coming from a meat source. You'll be the judge as you explore how to perfect the best "Not Meat - Meat" and decide where your journey should go from there.

All that said, if you want to explore ways to eat and still feel like you want the texture, the feel, the hamburger, sloppy joe texture, but not the guilt??? Take this class and I promise we will change the way you eat forever.

That said, if you have health issues or other concerns, please talk to a medical professional and make sure a plant-based or modified diet is right for you.
We are Chefs and not all of our foods and classes are appropriate for everyone.
