Event Overview

In this class, you'll learn the steps to make BOOZY, homemade, shelf-stable hot sauce! From sourcing peppers and ingredients to cooking and storing your batch. We'll also cover the tools and tricks of preservation, such as safety and shelf-life. Since safety is so important, we'll teach you some canning techniques as well. You'll get recipes, tips, and a bottle to take home along with a recipe book to make your own. We'll taste the hot sauce with chips at the end of class. Bring 2 extra (small) containers to take home additional sauce if it's available.

It was fun to learn the process to make hot sauce. We made one red and one green sauce and got a (mostly full) bottle of each to take home. This class wasn’t too in depth on the educational parts and was more about making the two hot sauces. But, now, I feel like I can make hot sauces at home!

My husband and I took two classes with Chef Joe on back-to-back days (the first was a sushi class), and this one was our favorite! His space in Andersonville was intimate and inviting, and he used his culinary experience to help us learn the basics of hot sauce making. The recipe books that are sent as part of the class are great, sparking a life-long love of making salsas and hot sauces. Thanks, Joe. :)
