Got an old quilt that has seen better days but you can’t part with it? Or maybe an old store bought quilt you love so much? Learn how to turn it into a jacket that will be wearable for years to come in all seasons! This workshop will cover from start to finish how to select a quilt, cut it out properly, and assemble it into the quilt coat of your dreams! You’ll learn how to cut up a quilt to get that specific pattern or pieces highlighted in your coat, and how to assemble a quilt coat with ease and confidence. Participants will cut out their jacket, and learn how/begin to assemble coat and add finishing to it.
You may bring your own quilt (full size or larger, or multiple quilts), use one provided by Perennial!
Participants should have basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine or have taken
Perennial’s Sewing Machine Basics workshop.
Materials are provided, but you may bring your own quilt if you do not want to use one of our options provided.
