Event Overview

This is an entry-level class for anyone interested in learning to bake with sourdough. If you’ve ever wondered what the difference between a starter and a leaven is, thought about how much starter gets thrown away every day or let your old sourdough starter starve from neglect, this is the class for you.

In this hands-on class, you will learn everything you need to know to feed and maintain a starter, how to mix, knead, and shape bread, how and when to use different kinds of flours, and the best way to bake your loaves at home.

You’ll leave class with three beautiful loaves of bread  – a loaf of artisan bread that you baked in class and 2 more loaves that you made to take home and bake.

You’ll also take home a package of the tools you need to make amazing sourdough at home:

  • Recipes

  • Proofing baskets

  • A scoring tool

  • Bench scrapers

  • Sourdough starter

Class is limited to 6 participants. Light refreshments will be served. Tickets are non-refundable but are transferable, so if you cannot attend, please pass your ticket to the bread lover of your choice.

People tell us that the best takeaways from our classes are not the big lessons, they are the tips and ideas that will make your cooking life easier and improving on what you are already doing. Things like substituting ingredients, using spices and slicing an onion without crying.

Join us for a class. We’ll cook up some great flavors and taste some awesome things together, plus we’d love to talk food with you! Hope to see you soon!

This was such a fun and worthwhile way to spend an evening! Not only did I go home with a loaf of warm sourdough bread, I now have the tools and knowledge to continue on with my bread baking. So easy! The kitchen was well ventilated and students were well spaced for a safe experience.

    From Teacher:

Thanks Tracy - I'm happy you enjoyed the class!
