Event Overview
Ever wonder “How do they get that mushroom in there”? That’s the magic! Learn how to create your very own boro mushroom pendants in this 3 hour class. By making these encased pendants you will learn to melt and gather the glass, pull and shape loops, and stringers. All work made will be ready by the end of class to take home.
This class is a great introduction to working with boro. It is also considered a prerequisite for some of our intermediate classes. Students who take classes with us may also return to the studio to work independently to practice and use the skills they have learned.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
John Landin was originally introduced to lampwork while doing research for his chemistry degree. He loves the experimentation in both science, and art glass. His passion started in 2005 making soft glass beads, and has since grown to a love of marbles, pendants, and sculpture in boro. He is always thinking about glass, and working to take his skills and knowledge to the next level. In 2013, he founded a glass studio in Lincoln Square with his partner, Elektra Musich. Most nights and weekends you can find him there at the torch working on his newest ideas.
