Event Overview

In this workshop, Dabblers will learn to hand-sew and create a fantastic pocket-sized sketch journal using the Coptic binding technique. Coptic bound books feature an open spine so that the ‘braid-like’ stitches are left visible. Another great feature of this binding is its ability to open and lay flat to the surface you are working on - a perk for artists and writers alike!

Make a gift for a friend or a handmade structure to contain your big ideas! This class is great for beginners and seasoned bookies. Learn a new skill or refine your existing skills.

Very intimate class, knowledgable instructor, & interesting book concept! Instructor showed samples of books she has created to give us future ideas, as well, which was helpful!

I loved this class! The teacher was so patient with everyone and really knew her stuff. This is the second class I've taken at One Strange Bird and I will definitely take more classes there in the future.

Nicole was great. She was patient, fun, and very informative with all of us. One Strange Bird was a wonderful venue and it was nice to learn that they have a lot "How To" courses, classes that I am interested in taking. The course topic was something that I have looked into in the past, but never took the initiative to try; this class enabled me and motivated me to learn the process of binding my own books. It was great, but the time and effort may be more than I am willing to give which I am now happy I know.
