Event Overview

Join us for a day of neighborhood beautification!

View and volunteer at a Native Garden Planting by Vivant Gardening Services on the Southwest Corner of Montrose and East Ravenswood. This neighborhood planting day of native and pollinator plants to highlight local artwork and celebrate community in all aspects.

The new garden comes from a special partnership with Vivant Gardening, the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce & Ravenswood Neighborhood Association's Garden Crawl.

We'll start at 9am and plant until we drop our shovels (or 3pm if it comes sooner.)

All ages and skill levels welcome.

Please wear closed-toed shoes & sunscreen, bring water and your gardening gloves. Bug spray might be a good idea if you find yourself irresistable to them! Shovels and plants will be provided on site.

This event is free but RSVPs are strongly encouraged so we can ensure enough tools are available on site.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Kasey Bersett Eaves started growing edibles and her treasured sunflowers at age two on family farm property in Southern Illinois. She hasn't sat down since! Just kidding … Now, as owner of Vivant Gardening Services, she spends her days making the act of gardening with edibles, natives and pollinator plants approachable to area residents, restaurants, schools, and more. Never daunted by the task of growing in a city's unusual spaces, Kasey loves finding creative and easily maintained growing solutions for city dwellers.

My God, I had so much fun being with fellow gardeners and learning so much about native plants and how to plant them effectively.

I now feel I own the corner of Ravenswood Avenue in Montrose.. we planted around a sculpture and made a path. I do not live very close, but I feel I will be making excuses to go see how our garden is doing.😸
