Event Overview

Have you been itching to write an article for a magazine or website, contribute a guest post to a blog you love, or see your personal essay published on one of your favorite sites?

Maybe you haven’t made it happen because you're intimidated, you suspect publication is only for people with more experience (or degrees) than you, or you just don’t know where to start. This class is for you!

We’ll cover how to whittle your ideas into pitch-able pieces, how to write pitches that get results and how to figure out where to send those pitches. You’ll leave this class with a few of your own story ideas, a knowledge of the perfect-pitch essentials, guidance on figuring out which publications—and which editors—to send to, and a list of resources to help you succeed once you’re out there pitching on your own.

Katie is definitely knowledgeable, and shared a ton of info that will be useful. She was very well organized, very kind, and provided handouts to help clarify the concepts she shared, and to support attendees in moving forward with locating opportunities and developing pitching after class. I enjoyed this class very much, and am so glad it worked out to attend. Thanks, Katie! :)
