Event Overview

We're back in person for this watercolor workshop with a fall theme! We have a new camera/projector combo to demo small painting details to the group on a larger scale. We're excited about it - hope you are too!

We will introduce watercolor fundamentals - wet on dry, wet on wet techniques, mixing colors and finish up by painting an assortment of seasonal greenery and florals. This will be a casual activity and paint your own adventure with painting tips, inspiration, and examples. It's a process-oriented one and absolutely no painting or drawing experience needed - relax and enjoy the fluidity of watercolor. Bring your own adult beverage if you'd like.

Limited seats available so that we can all see the projector and have some space. This is a great workshop to share with friends.

Each ticket will include a kit of materials to use in class and take home with you.

Sept. 13 - Floral Theme - coneflowers and anemones

Oct. 1 - Fall Theme - leaves and wreaths

Here's what the workshop includes:

  • (1) Round watercolor brush to take home - additional size/shape brushes to use from our class set

  • (10) sheets of cold-press watercolor paper in various sizes

  • 10-well plastic palette + lid for mixing colors

  • High-quality concentrated watercolors pre-distributed onto palette

  • Watercolor gift tags/bookmarks

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Leigh is an interior designer turned entrepreneur, workshop teacher, and venue curator. With her design background, Leigh felt that it was imperative to have a brick and mortar space specifically designed for creative and craft events, so she created exactly that in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. As a longtime craft supply enthusiast and savvy shopper, Leigh is always on the hunt for salvaged materials and new project ideas.

Our mission at Indigo & Violet Studio is to empower both novice and experienced crafters to feel confident exploring their creativity and artistic expression in a relaxed studio environment. We work in a variety of mediums - paint, paper, yarn, flowers, and wood to name a few. No matter the project, our goal is for all guests to leave with a new sense of pride along with their beautifully hand-crafted piece.

This is a wonderful, spacious studio. The instructor was very patient and kind, and her projector was a very useful way to see her demonstrations. I appreciated the art material provided, and we were all sent home with enough to continue our practice. I look forward to taking additional classes in this space.
