Event Overview

You know you've always wanted to learn to knit, so why not start now? It's a new year, and it's time for a new skill! Plus, those long winter months are a perfect time to hang out on the couch, watching movies and letting your fingers fly while you knit up all sorts of warm and comfy hats, scarves, and mittens!

This Dabble class, for absolute beginners, is a no-experience-necessary guide to knitting. Students will learn a few basic knitting terms, how to read a simple pattern, and, most importantly, how to actually knit and purl. (Don’t know what purl is? Don’t worry, it will be covered in the “terms” section of the course.)

With this knowledge safely tucked away inside the brain, students will be prepared to knit simple projects on their own. We'll only have time to make small swatches during class, but each student will go home with instructions for knitting a few simple scarves, and the knowledge needed to read a pattern.

The class size is small, so Dabblers will able to see the instructor's (busy) hands. What are you waiting for? Let's get knitty with it!

Great for beginners. The class is long enough to get you started so you can continue at home, utilizing the worksheet and internet tutorials. It's nice to have someone watch you at first so you know if you're doing something wrong- before you complete several more rows and have to unravel everything :)

    From Teacher:

    Thank you!

I really enjoyed the one-on-one attention and thought Ann did a great job teaching the basic stitches in knitting. It was fun to knit with a group!

    From Teacher:

Amy, not Ann, but I won't hold it against you! teaching become easy when you have such eager students!
