Event Overview

Wheel Throwing classes are 10 students or less in a class.  Each student will throw on the wheel for 60-90 minutes and the other half of class time is spent watching a demonstration, making handles, lids, or trimming etc.  Whether you are a beginner at the wheel or just brushing up on techniques, the instructor will meet you at your level.  Students will keep one piece at the end of class to be fired and glazed.

Pottery is fired to Cone 6-STONEWARE which means it is food-safe!  $45 Class Fee covers: clay, glaze & firing.  Projects are usually available for pick-up within 3 weeks after your class, however we will email you when things are ready for pick-up.  Students of all levels and beginners are welcome! Class is BYOB, so feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks.  (SBAP has plates, cups, napkins, silverware, openers etc.)

The instructor was very passionate and knowledgeable. Great class for someone who has never done it before!

This was such a fun class. We were fortunate enough to have a small class, so we could throw on the wheel for as long as we wanted. I, miraculously, wound up with three(!) completed pottery items that I was proud of. Our teacher, Sarah, was super approachable and very willing to help us learn. It isn't super easy to do and can be disheartening when you don't get it right, but Sarah made sure you knew how to correct your problems and let us practice until we got it right. It was a great date and I would totally do it again.

My friends and I enjoyed the class and learned quite a bit about both hand making and wheel throwing. It was a great hands-on experience and I'm looking forward to taking more classes here.
