Event Overview

Get your hands wet while making some wearable artwork!

Participants in this class will be learning the wet-felting technique to turn dyed wool into one-of-a-kind bangle bracelets, using just soap and water.

Each person will create 2 or 3 felted bangle bracelets that are ready-to-wear and made to last. Leave class with some eye-catching accessories! Perfect to give as a gift or to proudly wear yourself!

Plus gain after hours access to The Waxwing, an artist consignment shop filled with locally made goodies (bring money if you plan on shopping!)

No previous art experience is required.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

This class will be taught by Waxwing Artist, Kasia Drake-Hames. Kasia Drake-Hames has been teaching art classes to diverse groups of adults and youth in a variety of community-based settings for over 8 years. Kasia specializes in teaching fiber art techniques and paper crafts, particularly traditional Polish paper crafts, which she learned early in life from her grandmother, folk artist Ryszarda Klim. She holds a BFA degree in Fiber and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from UW-Milwaukee, and is an alumnus of the Public Allies program. Kasia exhibits her work regionally and has created two commissioned temporary public art installations for IN:SITE Milwaukee.
