Event Overview
Most people now live in developed suburban and urban areas rather than out in the countryside. So in the event of an emergency, many people are going to find themselves trying to navigate the concrete jungle we call Chicago. This class will focus on the basic principles of navigating through an emergency or disaster scenario in an urban environment.
Anyone interested in learning more about emergency preparedness is encouraged to participate! Students will receive a plethora of information including checklists, resource directories, blog directories, coupons for discounts on preparedness products and more. Upon completion of this class, students will leave with a comprehensive binder filled with resources, action plans and other additional tools.
TOPICS INCLUDE:
- Planning & Resources: Identifying resources ahead of time, including escape routes
- Gathering The Proper Supplies: Checklists & directories to identify supplies to have on-hand
- Bugging Out vs. Bugging In: When to leave an area. When to hunker down.
- Home & Personal Security: Securing self and home protection in detail
- Strategy & Implementation: Develop & implement individual action plans
