Event Overview

You've been dying to learn how to make a dreamcatcher and now is your chance to create a beautiful, one of a kind dreamcatcher alongside a professional artist in her home/art studio!

We will begin with intros. Next, I will teach you how to create the dreamcatcher web. After your web is complete, you'll embellish the dreamcatcher with fringe, feathers and other unique materials. I will help guide you with designing, knotting, measuring and the overall look of your piece. Everyone will complete their unique dreamcatcher during class so it is ready to hang the minute you get home! Your finished piece is generously sized at approximately 1 foot wide by 3 feet long. This workshop is perfect for anyone wanting a fun, creative experience in a charming Chicago gem. Grab a friend and join the group!

Amy Zwikel Studio is a Chicago based art and design studio founded by Amy Zwikel. Amy's mission is to cultivate her creative skills through material exploration and experimentation in order to provide unique, handmade items for your home, your wedding and for you. Currently Amy is focusing on macrame and creating handmade macrame artwork but she also loves mixed media and painting.

Amy was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, but loves to travel and experience the globes's vast cultural landscape. She currently lives in Chicago's bustling Streeterville neighborhood.

Amy earned her BFA in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in 2007 and went on to become an Art Director at a midsize Chicago marketing agency. Continuing to broaden her artistic reach, Amy earned an MAT in Art Education from Columbia College Chicago in 2011. Amy completed 5 years teaching drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, digital photography and graphic design at a north shore high school. Amy has been focused on macrame creations and teaching adult workshops for the last year and a half.

This is my favorite dabble class so far! Amy was super helpful with all the tips and advice on how to make the dreamcatcher, and the result was amazing for everyone. Plus, making a dreamcatcher was super relaxing and I felt really great with what I made by the end of class!

This class was so much fun! Amy walked us through the process and helped us get started. She taught us how to switch colors, add embellishments, and helped out when I got tangled. Such a relaxing activity, great host, and a wonderful end product!
