This class is a great stress-free environment to try stand-up for the first time!

This was quite an enjoyable event and I will likely stop by some of the drop-in classes soon. I also met several new people.

The class was a great time!

The instructors were really into the class and shared a lot of fun improv games and activities. It was a relaxed, fun environment and participants only had to put themselves out there as much as they chose (could volunteer to be "on stage" or observe).

Definitely a great taste of improv and The Second City.

Had a rough time arriving: train was running late and the weather decided to pour down rain when I finally figured out where I was going! After arriving late, I was relieved to see that I was still allowed into the classroom, where we began with some really fun warmup exercises and group activities. It only got better (and funnier) from there!

Excellent session. Even though my character idea for my blog is more dramatic than humorous, studying 'character' through comedy gave me solid components for thinking about development of a compelling character.

I also got an inside perspective on the mechanics of why some of my favorite shows are funny.

    90 minutes well spent.

I took the class with my girlfriend, and we both had an awesome time. The group was fairly small (10-12) and the instructor was fun, friendly and taught at the appropriate newbie level.

David brings a wealth of knowledge to the Second City table. He is a bright, engaging teacher and I learned quite about online humor POV, character development and dos/dont's in our brief 90 minutes together.

Excellent first glance into the world of writing stand-up comedy. I left the class with a direction to practice some basics on my own and with the desire to learn more.

This class turned out to be one part improv, one part writing; but if you think about it, those are roughly the same skill.

I write very few things on a daily basis besides FB posts and emails, but I'd like to think both have improved 10-fold because of this class.

It was great to spend some time with other people interested in writing and learn some other tips on how to start the process. I loved it!

Amazing class! I'm not a "comedy person" by any means, but I enjoyed this class and all of the improv exercises that we did. The teacher made it stupidly easy to see how things we learned through these exercises can be applied to any type of writing. I highly recommend this class, even if the idea of doing anything at Second City is scary for you (it's not! I promise!) or you aren't a writer. Anyone could walk away from this class happy that they went.

The class was fun but didnt reach its potential because there was WAAAY too many people in it to fully enjoy it. There was approximately 40-45 people in this class, which was just too much and really took away from the class. Would not take another class if there will be this many people.
