Rhine Hall Distillery

At Rhine Hall, we focus on fruit brandies, a European-style brandy otherwise known as eau de vie or schnapps. This means that we start with fresh fruit before we chop, ferment, distill, and bottle our spirits. Majority of our fruit is sourced from the Great Lakes Region, and no flavorings, sweeteners, or neutral spirits are added to any of our products — each bottle contains roughly 25lbs of fruit and that’s it. This process gives us a product that is not sweet, but embodies the essence of the fruit in both taste and aroma. In 2012, Charlie and Jenny Solberg, Father-Daughter team, decided to transition their family’s passion project into a business. Rhine Hall opened its doors on November 1, 2013 with a production facility and tasting room in the heart of Chicago's Kinzie Industrial Corridor. Come by and visit us. We would love to give you a tour & tasting, as well as introduce you to tasty brandy cocktails!

Rhine Hall was wonderful! Super cute and chic and I love that it’s such a small run company. Great drinks and awesome info, plus a house dog that was the cutest!!! Would definitely go back.

The tour was relaxed and entertaining as our guide walked us through the history of the distillery and the brandy-making process. Rhine Hall really felt one-of-a-kind and we are really glad we got to spend the evening there!

Amazing venue, staff and cocktails! This place is a hidden gem with some amazingly, creative cocktails. The family-owned distillery is really unique with their focus on fruit brandies and local ingredients...and $10??? C'mon y'all!

I planned this as a Valentine's Day gift for my husband as we enjoy brewery and distillery tours and we hadn't heard of this one! I think this is a diamond in the rough- as the facility is tucked away in the industrial corridor, but it has a great atmosphere that's casual and trendy. We were able to tour the facility, hear the history of the company, learn the process to make brandy and even got to sample their staple apple brandy. The staff was super nice (here's to you Spencer!) and accommodating.

I recommend this tour and will definitely return.

What a great thing to do with a group of friends, or for date night! My boyfriend and I visited Rhine Hall on a snowy evening, but were given a warm welcome by both the staff and resident dog Atlas. The general manager (sorry, I forgot her name!) gave us a really informative tour of the facility, full funny anecdotes and vivid descriptions of the history of the distillery. Following the tour we were treated to samples of some of their amazing spirits. My boyfriend, curious about the construction of Rhine Hall's still, had the opportunity to ask questions of founder Charlie himself. Definitely do this tour!

We enjoyed the tour of Rhine Hall -- where we learned all about brandy, how the fruit is used and the history of the owner and the name "Rhine Hall." The two samples of brandy were delicious; we will come back to the bar another time for a cocktail. The small Rhine Hall team is very passionate about the company and their brandy; they are a small business and we felt honored to learn more about the business and support their business.

The tour was an informative tour focused on fruit brandy. It was cool to see the distillery production space and get a liquor sample. But, it was a bit short and basic for the cost. There are better tours out there in other alcohol production facilities that are either free or cost the same and have a bit more flare.
