Natalie Slevin, owner of Sugar Bakeshop

Natalie has owned and operated Sugar Bakeshop for nearly 10 years. If the fact that her Easy Bake Oven was her favorite toy when she was a girl wasn’t a surefire sign of her future career path, then surely her need to try high altitude baking during her first trip out to Colorado at age 12 was. Working with butter and flour is most certainly what feeds Natalie’s soul, and turning her passion into a career was a natural step for this midwest transplant.
After moving to Denver in 2006, Natalie saw a need for a fun, lighthearted bakery at the Cherry Creek Farmers Market. What started as just a Saturday morning market stand, quickly grew into a full time bakery business. After a few years of selling, networking, and growing into a legitimate wholesale bakery, Natalie opened Sugar Bakeshop and Coffee House in May of 2011. While Natalie will never forget where she started (thank you, Easy Bake Oven), she is thankful for the capacity to be sharing her business with more than just her parents…at high altitude no less.

Natalie is an *excellent* teacher and guide. She made us all feel right at home and made sure that we had the tools and the help to create really gorgeous cupcakes, even for those of us with zero experience. We had a great time and loved every second of seeing our little succulent gardens come to life.

This class was SOOOO much fun. I went with a girlfriend and Natalie is an awesome instructor and a ton of fun to be around. We had a great time decorating cupcakes, drinking rose, and of course eating buttercream frosting:) We're definitely going back. Would highly recommend!

The cupcake decorating class taught by Natalie at Sugar Bake Shop in Denver was amazing. The shop is a great space for the class and the supplies were really well organized and packaged. I really enjoyed the pace and sequencing. I learned several techniques and there was ample time to practice. The class size was perfect and the resluts were really positive. Natalie is a very skilled teacher and she inspired me to keep trying with my new skills. I highly recommend this class if you have an interest in cake decorating. when I got home with my decorated cupcakes my teenage son was really impressed!

Natalie is charming and knowledgeable and has a beautiful bakery. Lots of guidance on GF baking and tips on baking in general. I would take another class from her.

Natalie is a lovely lady and a friendly neighborhood baker! She had an answer or idea for every question, and was task oriented without being a dictator. I learned some good techniques and a great go-to GF flour recipe. I'd do it again just to hang out with such a fun group!

Natalie was awesome. She went through the basics for creating perfect cookies & muffins at high altitude - and then she showed us how to adjust & experiment our way to perfection on any recipe. The group was fun and we got to get our hands dirty. She invited us to bring beers - always a good thing! A great class.
