Dale Frances

I’m an Australian artist specialising in ceramics. I have a BFA and run a ceramics homeware business, as well as running clay workshops, passionately passing on the skills that I’ve gathered, over the years. I think that working with clay is a restful, mindful activity...a perfect retreat from the madness of life.

EXTREMELY RECOMMEND! I didn't know what to expect but I was blown away by this experience. First, Dale herself is such a delight! Loved learning ceramics from her but also just chatting about all sorts of topics. Also, the studio is just gorgeous and smells heavenly. Since it opened just recently, not many people are aware of its existence so there was only one other person in the class, which made for a really intimate experience -- and we got to make 3 items! Dale was kind enough to extend the workshop well over an hour after the allotted time so we could finish decorating our items. We got really hands on with every step, from pouring the liquid clay into the mold, cleaning and shaping it, and painting and carving it. I'm so excited to return in a few weeks to pick up my beautiful, high-quality medium and large cups and big bowl!
