Buzz Espresso

Stefan Hersh, co-founder of Buzz: Artisanal Coffee Roasters and Buzz: Killer Espresso, has turned business & aesthetic acumen honed over multiple disciplines toward a passion for specialty coffee. In the early ‘80’s he first experienced Northern Italian espresso; that experience and subsequent trips to Italy cemented a lifelong passion for making great coffee – a hobby before it turned into a retail coffee business and finally commercial coffee roasting.

Stefan was clearly passionate about his coffee roasting craft. He opened the doors to his roasting facility for the first time to the public and gave us a tutorial and demonstration of what it takes to roast two, 12 pound batches of coffee. Watching him adjust the air and gas of his roaster while logging notes and answering our questions was very fascinating to experience.. Following the class Stefan gave each of us some of the fresh roasted beans which I can't wait to try. This was a great class all around and made me appreciate coffee even more than I already do.
