Event Overview

Want to make your own one-of-a-kind hand dyed pieces this summer? Join us to learn all about the Japanese art of manipulating cloth through tying and knotting. We’ll show you three classic patterns and you’ll get to use them (or anything your creative brain can dream up!) to dye a unique piece.

The best part? You get to bring one item of your choosing to dye in class. Tee-shirts, hats, socks, and more are all welcome - the only limitation is one item per person and it needs to be any fabric that is plant or animal based: silk, hemp, or cotton, and white or light colors for the best results.

Note: When working with indigo, there is always a possibility your clothes could get stained. We will have aprons and gloves for your protection, but please come wearing something that is not precious, ideally that is short sleeved.
