Event Overview

In this world obsessed with the cycle of consumerism, slow fashion is more important than ever. Reduce your impact on the environment (and on your wallet!) by mending items you already own, not to mention adding some visual flair to your existing wardrobe.

Come learn different hand-sewing techniques, including how to create stitch patterns using a grid. Learn the history of tenun and weaving in Indonesia and get hands-on coaching from an expert!

Bring a damaged item you’d like to repair or embellish to work on in class (denim or woven fabrics work best for getting started). We’ll provide a needle, thread, and a variety of patches made from upcycled fabrics and handwoven textiles from Indonesia. These are yours to keep so you can continue your mending journey at home!
