Event Overview

Whether you have a big backyard garden, a P-patch plot, or a few containers on your balcony, come learn how to grow food at home! There’s nothing better than sowing seeds, watching plants grow, and then harvesting and sharing the bounty with family and friends!

Thinking about your first garden and feeling intimidated about where to start? Fancy yourself a seasoned gardener but want to get a better handle on your garden plan? This class is for you! All of you!

Come dig in with us, reviewing big picture garden planning concepts like knowing your site, mapping your garden, and growing requirements for different crops. We’ll also tackle planting schedules, crop rotation, and succession planting, plus leave plenty of time for your questions.

You’ll head home with a road map for your garden this year and beyond, tons of resources and a collection of 5 seed varieties from our friends at Seattle Seed Company. Let’s get growing!

As a small step toward making The Works a space for everyone, we save one spot in every class for someone who wants to attend but otherwise can’t afford to. This is an honor system program - read more about it here. All ticket sales are subject to our Terms and Conditions
