Event Overview

Maybe you've said to yourself that you know you should be investing, but every time you start the process you become overwhelmed. Or maybe you know what you want invest in, but just don't know where to begin. We think we might have the answer you've been looking for!

This course is the complete beginners investing course for those that want to learn to trade in the stock market or build their nest egg for retirement. We'll explore basic investment theory, mechanics of the stock market as well as the various investment vehicles available and how to use them. The class will conclude with an ample Q&A session to allow students to ask any question that was not previously covered or answered.

Upon completion, students will leave:

1) With the knowledge of how the stock market works and what makes it move – Bulls, Bears and Brokers
2) Understanding different investment choices – from Stocks to Mutual Funds to Retirement Plans.
3) Knowing how to build their portfolio – risk, diversification and buying
4) With the confidence to begin their investment journey, no matter what their current stage in life is.

Jared is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and CEO of the Chicago financial services firm Wilson Rogers & Company. Prior to his current role, he spent 13 years in the finance function of several major companies including Hyatt Hotels, PepsiCo, Robert Bosch and KPMG LLP. In addition to the above, Jared is also the published author of Pathways To Wealth - A Common Sense Guide to Personal Money Management & Lifestyle Techniques (Authorhouse 2003).

In his role at Wilson Rogers, Jared is responsible for advising clients on matters ranging from income taxes to personal financial planning. He assists individuals and businesses with navigating their accounting, investment, strategy and consulting needs.

Philanthropically, Jared has served as Financial Secretary and Treasurer for the IDeaL Education Foundation (of which he is currently a Board Member). He also has previously volunteered as a tax preparer for the IRS’ Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), which offers free tax help to low-to moderate-income people who cannot prepare their own tax returns.
