Event Overview

Imagine tasting the botanicals and barrel-aged goodness of a fine local gin or whisky, while you build your own terrarium inside a spirits bottle!

We'll taste gins and whiskies by a local distillery, and we'll make mossy terrariums. You'll go home with a smile and a miniature mossy world you built yourself...It's a match made in awesome!

Learn how to design, build, and care for your own terrarium with Laura Mae, the talented terrarium designer based at Cultivate Urban Rainforest. You'll come away with new knowledge and insight, and possibly a favorite new hobby!

We will be working with containers that have small openings, using long tweezers to arrange plants, pebbles, and soil. No experience is necessary- only understand that this is a slightly more technical process than the beginner class, and requires a little bit of dexterity and patience. (Think ships in a bottle...) It's a whole lot of fun.

You'll learn:

-How to select a container and plants that will thrive with your lifestyle and environment
-How to select and assemble substrate and plants so they will look good and grow well
-Some design principles so your mini green world looks awesome
-How to care for your terrarium

No experience necessary; join us for a fun, educational afternoon, with spirits!
