Event Overview

Learn the art of making sushi with expert sushi Chef Sam. This class will leave you rolling with excitement! Each person will have the opportunity to make and enjoy their own rolls. This class will teach you basic knife cuts, allow you to choose your own ingredients, spread your own rice, and create the perfect maki roll! As a souvenir, each person will take home a new maki roller.

Chicago native Chef Sam considers herself a professional eater. Her career as a sushi chef started 6 years ago and in that short time she has had the opportunity to work under the best sushi chefs in the city, including working at a prominent sushi restaurant located in Downtown Chicago. She also spent 4 years as a private chef, where she gains skills in teaching and food education.

We arrived at 522 Envy and were warmly welcomed by Chef Samantha and the owner of the store, Kristie. At first, we were the only two in the class, later a third joined us. I thought that was disappointing at first but turned out to our advantage, we got a lot of individual attention and all our questions were answered. We had lots of fun with the bubbly women. We also left with lots of sushi to bring home to the men in our family!
