Event Overview

WHAT IS SLACKLINING?

Slacklining is the practice of balancing on a thin, flat piece of webbing attached between two trees or anchor points. Slacklining offers a unique way to sharpen focus, improve balance and increase flexibility. Slacklining is beneficial for all. Especially those who claim to have poor balance. Whether you are a beginner or seasoned slackliner, you will be sure to have a new and exciting challenge.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

The nature of a slackline offers a dynamic up & down, side-to-side environment which in turn demands that every sliver of the physical body work in unison from the tip of your toes to the top of your head. Engaging the body in this holistic manner will bring balance to your mind and all aspects of your life.

Allowing distractions of the mind to run wild within your consciousness creates a conditioning out of life. Slacklining gives one the chance to wage war with the distractions of the mind. As distractions arise, you are off the line. Slacklining gives body consciousness a chance to help with the elimination of mental distractions. As the body conditions itself physically and mentally to stay on the line, the mind in turn follows.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

• Tips and tricks to making your first baby steps on the slackline a success
• Meditation principles and practices
• Yoga poses applied to the slackline
• The in's and out's of setting up 2 inch and primitive slackline setups.

Mike is a great teacher! Before the class, I was nervous about how well I'd do and if I'd even be able to balance on the slackline at all. He worked with me at my pace, taught activities in a well thought-out order, and was super positive and gave me helpful and encouraging feedback. Halfway through the lesson, I was balancing on the slackline with only bits of wobbling! I left the class feeling super accomplished, and I look forward to giving it another go soon!
