Join us for a beginner's course in edible wild plants.
In this class, Dabblers will learn how to safely identify, harvest, and prepare a selection of wild edible plants in season, common to the midwest bio-region, as well as how to identify and avoid common poisonous plants .
The class will consist of a full day out in the driftless region foraging on private property , students will harvest several bags of produce and be given sample recipes to try out. we'll meet at loyola beach park in the morning and drive out to our location , transportation can be arranged, students should wear appropriate clothes and bring a day bag with food and water

Instructor, blademith, forager, and modern hunter gatherer , chris teaches with the Chicago School of Wilderness Skills and Fire Arts Center of Chicago. crafting weapons and tools and stalking through terrain reclaimed by the wild , chris offers foraged food sales in the chicago area , wild foods consultations, and sells hand forged blades . .
After this class we identified 6 different edible species on a 4 block stroll around our neighborhood. And during the class we collected enough greens for a couple of days worth of wild salads. Thanks so much!

I learned a lot and refined the knowledge I already had. Chris was an excellent teacher who set a good pace and made sure the information got in. We had enough for 4-5 big salads that we are munching our way through and loving.
