Event Overview

We are gathered here today to celebrate the happy matrimony of smooth base spirits and infusions into delicious, delicious flavored liqueurs. It's a match made in heaven, no doubt, and if you're asking us if we think this class is going to knock it out of the park, our answer is: We do.

Liqueurs are created by starting with a clean base liquor and marinading it with sugar + any complimentary combination of herbs, spices and fruits your little heart desires. But the buck doesn't stop there -- you can also add far-out infusions like coffee/tea, flowers, or even bacon. This Dabble class aims to explore the world of liqueurs, elixirs and infusions and teach students the simple processes for making their own at home.

Dabblers will learn the art of infusion ... with no yeast or long fermentation periods to tackle. We'll cover the basics of making infusions, simple syrup, simple turbinado syrup and mixing flavors. The best way to learn is through practice, so after we've made several single flavor liqueurs, each student will create their own blend to take home and will taste-test other students' creations as well.

Victor J Kinzer started infusing unique flavors into his alcohol several years ago due to a small bit of inspiration from Good Eats. Since then he has given multiple custom liqueurs as gifts, and taught one class at Edible Alchemy on this subject of custom liqueur making. He taught himself to cook in college and is always looking for the next new cooking challenge. Currently he is looking for more teaching opportunities because of a deep passion for helping other people to create for themselves from what the world has to offer.
