Event Overview
A fun, relaxing, and female-friendly class in the body-positive art of Burlesque Striptease performance. Whether you're interested in performing for an audience or just your partner, this class teaches simple, fun, sexy ways to show off your best bits for anyone you care to share them with!
Students will start with a glass of wine in a casual "girls' night" setting where they'll meet one another and the instructor. After introductions have been made, the class will adjourn to a private stage space where experienced performer MsPixy will lead them through a series of walks, poses, bumps, grinds, shimmies, and teases.
Students are invited to wear clothing they are comfortable stripping out of and bras and panties they don't mind being seen in by their classmates, but are welcome to participate at their own level of comfort and may choose to pantomime clothing removal.
All students will leave having created their own short (1-2 minute) burlesque routine, and each student will receive a pair of evening gloves to use in class and take home as a souvenir of the evening.
NOTE: This class is open to women only. All participants must be over the age of 18.

All ages welcome
Prerequisites
NO prior dance or burlesque experience is necessary to enjoy this class.
Students should wear clothing in which they feel comfortable and relaxed.
Students should wear shoes in which they are comfortable moving or can go barefoot during class.

MsPixy is a critically acclaimed Burlesque performer, director, choreographer, and costumer with over 10 years of performance experience performing with The Belmont Burlesque Revue. In addition to her years of experience on stage, MsPixy is also an experienced arts educator specializing guiding the creative process. Each year MsPixy helps literally hundreds of students of all levels of experience develop as artists and performers. Over the past three years, MsPixy has introduced over 50 new performers to the Chicago Burlesque scene through her work with Gorilla Tango Theater, including many who have gone on to form troupes of their own and/or become artistically and financially successful performing artists.

I was a little apprehensive about this class as I was going by myself and it is outside of my comfort zone. I am so glad I went-- --the class was a blast!
It was held at The Den Theatre in Chicago, which was the perfect setting. The lighting is low and there are couches and chairs strewn about the common areas.
MsPixy, the teacher, was amazing at making one feel instantly comfortable. She had a great sense of humor and a charming personality.For Burlesque all you really need is some confidence in yourself and to take your time-- --MsPixy's class helped me gain some of that confidence. At the end of class I felt powerful, seductive, and at one with my body! Thank you for a wonderful evening!!
