Event Overview

On June 20, Yoga Buzz is participating in The Longest Day, an event to honor the strength, passion and endurance of those facing Alzheimer’s disease. Join us at Ballpark Village for a yoga class at noon on Saturday, June 20. All we ask is a $5 minimum donation to put toward the cause. Today, over 35 million people across the world are living with Alzheimer’s, including more than 5 million Americans. In the United States alone, more than 15 million caregivers generously dedicate themselves to those with Alzheimer’s and dementia. And these numbers will only continue to rise unless we take action.

You can make an additional donation directly to the Alzheimer's Association Fundraiser here: http://act.alz.org/site/TR/?pg=team&fr_id=6650&team_id=272894

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Yoga Buzz Founder Elle Potter (ERYT-200) has been teaching yoga since 2008. She has accumulated over 1000 hours of training, taught over 1000 yoga classes and continues to find new ways to get excited about the practice. Her classes are accessible and empowering, and she is able to teach a room with brand new students as well as seasoned yogis without leaving anyone feeling left behind.

In 2010, Elle took a break from teaching yoga and was hired on as Logistics Director and Community Manager for Zephyr Adventures, where she ran two seasons of annual conferences for Beer Bloggers (both in the US and in Europe), Wine Bloggers, Fitness and Health Bloggers, and Food Bloggers. Inspired by the passion each niche community presented, Elle began to become more interested and enamored by the world of taste. After running her first half marathon in 2012 and recovering with a pint of Schlafly beer, she realized there was a place where all her interests could intersect.

After moving to St. Louis in 2012, more and more of her new friends were interested in trying yoga, but were intimidated at the prospect of coming into a yoga studio for their first yoga experience. Her buddies requested a class for everyday guys like them, jokingly referring to it as “Yoga for Beer Bellies.” The thought continued to roll around in Elle’s head until Yoga Buzz STL was born – a way to provide an approachable opportunity to try yoga for those who are new to the practice, a way to introduce yogis to the fine craft of beer and wine, and a way for those who already love both worlds to enjoy them both at the same time!
