Event Overview
Knitting is the perfect hobby: you can take it with you on a long car ride, it's a great conversation starter ("What ARE you making?), it's an economical way to make beautiful gifts for the people you love (It's NEVER too early to get started on holiday gifts for next year!), and it helps you to feel more productive while you're binge watching Netflix! What more could you ask for?
While the weather is still cool, pick up your needles and yarn and start your knitting adventure.
Class size is limited to 5 students so you receive a lot of one-on-one attention.
In this class you will learn all you need to know to get started. We'll cover the basic stitches that can be used to create your first project and a slew of weird knitting vocabulary words (frog! stash! stockinette!).
You will leave with a started project, some helpful handouts to refresh your memory when you get home, and a list of valuable internet resources. If you've always wanted to know if knitting is for you - now is your chance!
**NOTES ON LOCATION: I have two cats, so please keep this in mind if you are allergic. Also, you must be able to climb a flight of stairs to enter my apartment. If you have accessibility concerns, let me know and we can try to find another location!**
What to Bring
Needles and Yarn - When you sign up for the class, I will send you some specific instructions on what to purchase and some money saving tips. Materials do not need to cost more than $15-$20 and will create one chunky scarf.

Handouts with information, instructions and helpful internet resources. **If the cost of yarn and needles is too costly for you, please contact me for additional options.**

Cristina is an east coast native who moved to St. Louis in 2011 and fell in love with the city. She has been knitting, and teaching others to knit, for over 10 years. Her cats refuse to wear sweaters, so she spends her time creating winter wear for the humans in her life. Favorite projects have included: a stuffed moose for a Canadian friend's kid, a cabled hoodie cardigan sweater, and an infant sized Blue's hockey outfit for her friend's newborn's photo shoot (complete with ice skates). Her day job as a social worker pays for her yarn addiction.

It was clear that she deliberately structures her lessons to enable her students to learn a lot in one session but also to repeat the techniques enough to solidify them and be motivated to continue. It was fun to learn this new skill and empowering to have the confidence to keep at it!

This class was awesome!! I signed up with no knowledge of how to knit and left the class with an eagerness to keep knitting! Within 2 days I had finished my first cowl, and started a new pattern for a baby blanket. Cristina has a true passion for knitting and is an amazing teacher. I can't wait to take another class with her!

This class was really such a blast. Cristina is a fantastic teacher! She is both extremely patient and enthusiastically encouraging, filled with helpful tips and insider tricks of the knitting trade. I think everyone walked in knowing absolutely nothing, and before the two hours were up, we were all knitting away like pros. She also equipped us with great handouts and online resources for our continued knitting pursuits. I can’t wait until she has another class because I am SO taking it! Recommend 100%!!!
