Event Overview

Specialty coffee is everywhere these days. And it can be tough to understand the language of the coffee world as more and more high-end varieties and brewing techniques become available.

We at Kuva Coffee really want to share our enthusiasm for coffee in a way that's comfortable and acceptable for everyone. Whether you're a "pour-over master" or aren't even sure what that means, we'll make you feel welcome : )

GREEN BEAN - We'll discuss where we source our raw coffee beans from and what's so special about Direct/Fair Trade.

ROASTING - See (and smell) the roasting process in action(~15 min) and talk through the changes to the bean as it cooks. You'll also get to take home a sample of the coffee you saw roasted!

BREWING - Obviously, by this point you'll want some coffee. So we'll offer everyone a chance to brew a cup using any number of popular methods...or just sit back and our barista will hook you up.

We really hope this class teaches you something new, gives you a greater appreciation for the scope of the entire coffee process and makes you better prepared for the next time you're in line at your local coffee shop.

Kuva Coffee Company was established in 2003. Our mission since our outset has been to provide our customers with the finest single-origin coffees available on the world market, roasted in micro-batches.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

After working for the second-largest coffee producer in the world based in the Netherlands, Andy returned to St. Louis with a whole new appreciation for the industry and has quickly found his home as roastmaster at Kuva Coffee Co. He takes great care working based on temperature and humidity each day to optimize each bean's roast and eventual flavor to keep his coffee as consistent as it can be.

Very knowledgable and fun teacher. Great way to learn about the coffee business, and how to brew a fine cup. I recommend it!
