Event Overview

**THESE DATES ARE NOT INTENDED FOR THE DEAL ON GILT SF! PLEASE EMAIL DANI@RECOVERIE.COM TO SET UP YOUR CLASS DATE**

Week 1: You move into a new apartment, slap some lime green paint on the walls because it's currently your favorite color, then move in all your old furniture, despite the fact that this place is much smaller than your previous space.

Week 10: Your eyes literally ache when you look at your walls, but you're too lazy to repaint. Bruises from consistently running into the side of your couch have nixed any chance of wearing a bikini on your upcoming Vegas trip. The intense sunlight coming from your living room window is very close to burning a hole in your synthetic Ikea rug.

YOUR SPACE IS OWNING YOU!

*Get back in control with this course on basic design principles and elements*

There are so many color, furniture, and style options out there these days, that even looking at paint swatches can be crazy overwhelming. In this course for the ultimate design noob, you will learn to overcome your fears of making design decisions. Topics that will be covered include: Basic design elements and how to apply them to your space, creating a concept, color theory, types of lighting, space planning, product sourcing, and more.

You will also learn how to develop your concept using mood and color boards, and will be given a basic floor plan to complete during the class. Expect to leave with the tools needed to crush your next design endeavor!

A native California girl, Danielle was brought up creating. After a carefree childhood of glitter, glue gunning, beads, and paint, she decided to step it up and get serious about her hobbies. Eight years of art school later, she found herself in San Francisco running a small design business known as The Recoverie. Her business has been featured in DailyCandy, and her designs can now be found in the Emeryville West Elm.

Danielle holds a double Bachelors in Illustration and Interior Design. She is also a self taught Graphic Designer, and Printmaker. She spent many years as a children's art instructor, but prefers to teach adults that she doesn't have to give time-outs to (but don't push her..).

It was great - I got a solo class since no one else signed up for the rescheduled 1st class. So I was the test case. Definitely helpful in giving me the basics and tools and resources to go to after I left class to continue to try and put together my spaces.
