Event Overview
This 90 minute class is a hands-on workshop. We go over all the basic steps necessary to have a great square foot garden-building a box, making the perfect soil, putting together a grid, a review of plant spacings, amending, and plant rotation. Then we will get a little deeper into the advanced techniques, namely vertical gardening, unusual spaciing, the top hat, building a tomato tower, how to attach the netting to the tower (which you'll never see anywhere else) and a brief discussion on how to protect your gardens. We still have plenty of cold weather ahead of us so you'll benefit from this. As summer approaches, we'll talk about how to cool your gardens down for an even better garden!
This is held at my home in a very comfortable outdoor environment. The best thing is you get to actually see a SFG in action. The class is interactive and fun. You'll know exactly how to do it all when you leave. Please bring ipads, iphones, something to write with, paper, and a pair of gardening gloves. You'll be doing things in the dirt.
