Event Overview
Having worked with Hunter S. Thompson's friends and family, and working with activist writers of the Beat Generation I'm here to take you on an adventurous and eccentric writing experience to find your own personal style and voice in writing. This can include but is not limited to prose writing, poetry, essays, how to structure a novel...the class will be very flexible centering itself around what each writers visions are and helping hone their personal voice and unique writing style.
The class will first take inventory of each writers desires, background, and what they wish to convey in their writing. Then we will choose what is the most effective, and share among our group our differences and likenesses, opinions, expressions, and the soulful means which we seek to share as our birthright. Each participant will learn something of one another's personal style, while learning more about their own through peer outlook. We will have a great time writing from the softest of our hearts to the edge , where madness may loom, and all places in between where we dream and seek. The class will teach individuals how to be open to any desired perception which they wish to convey in their writing, and work to make it as crisp and meaningful as possible with sharp utilized style.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
My name is Brandon Lee. I have worked with artist/activist writers all across the country and have both degrees in Journalism and Creative Writing. I have collaborated with Ralph Steadman controversial cartoonist for Hunter S. Thompson's Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, and currently work with friends of Thompson's estate including his son Juan Fitzgerald Thompson, Ron Whitehead and many others.
I am a graduate of one of the most alternative universities in the country: The Jack Kerouac School of [Dis]embodied Writing and have worked with beat writers including Joanne Kyger, Anne Waldman, 1980's no-----givin New wave artist Lydia Lunch, collaborated with front man of Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, and am currently working on a project with Isaac Brock of the Indie Rock band Modest Mouse, and Matt Schultz lead singer of Cage the Elephant.
In my free time I enjoy playing guitar, traveling at high speeds, trying new foods, and listening to new music. I love new opinions, and open people, and sharing my talents of eccentric writing with others.
