Event Overview

Learn tips and techniques for making miniatures as you create a miniature scene in a faux terrarium.

In this workshop, each participant will create a tiny landscape inside a decorative glass jar using dried flowers, mosses, rocks and colored sands. Miniature figurines and landscaping materials will also be available. Students will get to explore the supplies and techniques for miniature making, learn tips and tricks for creating minis and take home their own scene. We will also talk about where to find resources for taking on more complex miniature projects, like dollhouses, and take a closer look at the artisan pieces at the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys.

This class is great for people who are new to the world of miniatures. Miniature making can be especially fun for people who like to get creative but want something more forgiving than traditional 2-diminsional arts like painting or drawing. No special skills are required for this project.
