Event Overview

Bystander Intervention Training gives participants the tools and confidence to intervene, safely and effectively, when they witness harassment of a vulnerable person in a public place. Bystander Intervention Training is an integral component of American Friends Service Committee's Sanctuary Everywhere project, which equips people with skills to increase safety for communities targeted by law enforcement and by hate groups, especially those in Black, immigrant, LGBTQ and Muslim communities. Workshop participants will discuss the goals of and barriers to intervening on behalf of others and will learn and practice the dos and don'ts of intervention.
