Event Overview

Sleep. It evades so many of us, and yet it is such a necessary source of fuel and restoration for our bodies, minds, and overall daily functioning. Sleep is under-rated. Come to this workshop and learn how to make the most of your sleep, how to make it work for you at an optimal level, and how to improve the quality of your sleep so that you can begin each day at your best.

Are you struggling with falling asleep at night? Do you wake up during the night and can't fall back asleep? Do you wake up still feeling tired? Are you wondering if there's anything you can do to improve your sleep? If you've answered 'yes' to any of these questions, you are the ideal candidate for this workshop.

We'll go through a detailed assessment of various aspects of your sleep, identifying possible causes for sleep disturbance/inadequacy. Then, we'll review various solutions for those causes in detail. You'll walk away with a diverse list of ways to improve your sleep, and a better understanding of your own sleep. Then you can go home and apply them!

The information shared in this workshop is based on years of masters-level and then doctoral-level training and experience I have gathered in sleep health from a clinical psychological and biopsychosocial perspective. This includes: 1) giving workshops on sleep health to stressed-out students at Northwestern University Chicago's Stress Management Center and being trained in this topic by expert-level supervisors; 2) treating adult patients in a leading Chicagoland hospital's Anxiety and OCD Center which often included sleep disturbances and difficulties and; 3) providing counseling at a community mental health center that often included treating sleep difficulty.

I'm sure we all know someone who falls asleep easily, and wakes up feeling rested and renewed. Let's help you be one of those people.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Hi everyone,

My name is Stephanie, and I’d like to help encourage you to be a proactive agent in your own life! Stress is part of life, and I’ve spent the last eight years of my grad school training and education focusing on how to deal with it. I’m getting my doctorate in clinical psychology (just dissertation and one last internship to go, cue happy dance), and I hold a masters in marriage & family therapy. I’ve received specialized intensive training in stress management AND in program design/delivery/evaluation. Blending the two is a passion of mine, and I’m looking forward to doing just that through Dabble and beyond.

To date, I’ve delivered close to 700 workshops on wellness, leadership, peak performance, stress/anxiety management, conflict resolution, sleep health, and the list goes on… I’ve given workshops and more involved assessment, treatment and consultation across academic, medical, forensic, treatment facility, corporate and nonprofit organization settings. I’ve also run the Stress Management Clinic at Northwestern University, trained within an Anxiety & OCD unit of a leading Chicagoland hospital, and most recently, trained at Johns Hopkins.

When I’m not reading up or writing on stress management, self-compassion, leadership, and the like… I’m probably brainstorming fun ways to create a career out of it! Also, I am a major foodie, yogi, and I have a soft spot for breathtaking scenery.

I hope to see you in one of my future workshops! Questions are always welcomed, and I am always happy to talk further about opportunities to design and give a workshop for your organization, program, school, etc!
