Event Overview
Join our Folk Art painting class to relax and discover artist in you. Elena Way will help you master simple techniques of Petrykivka. Being passionate about painting and she loves to share her craft with others.
Together we'll create beautiful pictures of birds, flowers and berries and learn the symbolism behind them. This activity is a wonderful mood lifter. A little bit of sketching, brushwork, and finger-painting makes this craft accessible to everyone from novice to professional artist.
We'll be using gouache paints or watercolors, round and mink brushes, watercolor paper and pencils.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
I was born in USSR, lived most of my life in Ukraine and came to Denver only in March 2015. Back there I got certified and taught English as a second language for almost 10 years. Since early age I have been dancing, singing and writing poems. I was taught to paint in Kindergarten but only twenty some years later took it to the level I am doing it now. It was just a hobby first but later turned into a career. Now I am an exhibiting artist in three different locations in Denver and a freelance art teacher. I really love teaching Folk Art because it makes my life rich and meaningful.
