Event Overview

Designed for beginners to intermediate dancers who want to feel and look better while having more fun dancing with a partner. Learn the secrets of how advanced dancers always look good and have a great time. Discover how to get the most out of all your dance lessons. Understand the common guidelines (rules) of social dancing. Practice leading and following techniques. See what makes them work. Recognize rhythm patterns, counting phrasing, and the most usable dances for your music preferences. This class will be part discussion and part practice of movement and techniques that are applicable to all social dances. Bring all your questions and a notepad.


This class is a series and will be taught on FOUR consecutive Tuesdays. Cost is $45/Single or $80/Couple. Use code below when registering as a couple. This price entitles you to Free Repeats to drop-in as often as you would like!

Cathy Ewing has been teaching social Ballroom, Latin, Swing, and Country Western dance since 1984. She has been professionally trained as a dance instructor and continues her training with world-known pros through the BYU Ballroom Dance Program. She also has trained in martial arts (Tae Kwon Do, Woo Shoo, Aikido) and has a unique approach to teaching body mechanics, posture, balance, movement, and partnering.
Cathy and Company provides a unique approach to both the mental and physical and aspects of learning to dance with a partner. She has become known for her unique style of teaching social dance, partnering, and developing self-confidence in a fun, social atmosphere. Emphasis is on understanding the basic techniques and body mechanics, which apply to all social dance, while learning patterns, techniques, and styles specific to each dance.
