Event Overview

Curious about owning chickens?
Want fresh eggs every day?
Looking for a way to meet your neighbors?
Wonder about the yuck factor?

This intro to backyard chicken ownership is for you. I'll show you everything you need to know, and will help you skip any extras that you don't need to easily and successfully have happy chickens and delicious eggs in your own backyard.

We'll cover care and feeding, safety and security, winterizing, starting from scratch, egg storage, and how you can still go on vacation without worrying about your girls.

Each classmate will take home some fresh eggs too, as a temptation for starting your own flock.

What to Bring

Small egg carton if you'd like to take home an egg or two

Minimum age

All ages welcome

What's Provided

I'll have everything you need, just bring your questions! I'll also have some cold beer options, no one should do any learning while thirsty.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Having a backyard flock has been one of the most rewarding, hilarious, and easiest upgrades to Denver-living. I'm thrilled to help you figure out how to get started to successfully have your own hens. I'll share my hiccups to help you avoid the same.

This class was a great first Dabble experience. Cari was knowledgeable and funny. I would without a doubt recommend this to anyone who is interested in getting chickens.

Thanks for the great note Ariel. It was a blast teaching and meeting you - let me know if you make the jump and get some girls.
