MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
I live in Austin, Texas with my husband, daughter and sweet pug Norman. As a child, in rural Colorado, I spent countless hours making art. I lost that for a couple of decades, and then after a bout with postpartum depression I re-dedicated myself to making own own art. Art is my wellness practice. It keeps me balanced and thriving through the ups and downs of life.
Every outward truth points to an inward truth. Each piece of art was inspired by a cultural story, archetype or metaphor. Therefore as we create art, we are able to externalize our inner truth. This process of sharing and externalizing our truth is deeply connecting. When we share our stories we become more connected to ourselves, and our communities.
Heidi currently teaches art in a local Austin high school as well as hold workshops and e-learning courses for summer camps, nursing homes and Four Seasons community school. The big goal is for each artist to come away from each lesson with a sense of joy and desire to create more art.
