This class will cover the basics of using a sewing machine and the fitting and alteration techniques necessary to take an up-cycled fashion project from start to finish. Participants will learn how to make alterations to the body of a garment at the shoulder and side seam, add darts, make their own bias binding, and clean finish a hem on a lined garment. Participants are welcome to bring their own lined flannel jackets to use for this project (this project requires 1 large lined flannel jacket), or they may pick from a variety provided by Perennial.
