Event Overview

It’s time to have some summer fun with our photos and selfies! We will have a blast bringing in digital copies of our family or individual photos, adding digital pizzazz, and embellishing them using “paint” layers and making our own brushes in Photoshop. You will get to try using Wacom Tablets, the tools that designers use to make their work on the computer more like work made with paint or ink. Please bring a USB stick with digital copies of 3-7 photos you would like to incorporate into a digital collage. You will learn how to use layers, brushes, and masks in Photoshop. The nicest part is, because it’s digital, the whole process is non-destructive. That means you get to keep your old photos exactly as they were, in addition to having them in new and decorated compositions!

This class is held by Laura at Glow Tech Studios, which offers digital art lessons, classes and laptop/Wacom tablet rentals in SOMA. It takes place in a conference room at the artists' facility called SHARED, at 739 Bryant Street between 5th and 6th. Parking is available for a flat rate of $10-15 at various lots nearby. If your child is attending (and you are not), please make sure they have entered the building before you leave. Due to the necessity of the teacher being the one to let participants into the building, late arrival is not possible. Looking forward to seeing you there!
