Event Overview

A beginner-friendly class for anyone interested in working with leather! In this class, we'll be putting together a leather plant hanger, big enough to hold a medium-sized air plant or succulent. (The plant is included!)

We'll be working with vegetable-tanned leather, that light and creamy colored leather that gets better with age. The class will focus on some leather basics, like punching holes, braiding, and burnishing. We'll also go over care and keeping of your leather plant hanger, focusing on tending to the vegetable-tanned leather process, which is full of natural waxes and oils.

You'll walk away with a sleek, minimal plant hanger that will last a lifetime, a succulent to adorn your home, and the skills to dive into leatherworking with confidence!

If you've ever wanted to work with leather, or get a feel for the process of making an heirloom good, this class is for you. Leather, like whiskey, wine, and cheese, only gets better with age. (Speaking of... feel free to bring your own beverages!)
