MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Heidi Jensen is co-owner of Naturally Healthy and Strong. She grew up in a small mountain town where fast foods and deep fried foods were hard to come by. That didn’t mean that she didn’t struggle with her weight. For a better part of her childhood she was overweight and struggled with diets, eating sugar, eating too much, eating too little and about everything in between. In her senior year of high school she tried the Slimfast diet and lost 20 lbs. However because she didn’t transform her lifestyle the pounds returned with a vengeance. When she was 25 she started educating herself on health and nutrition. This education gave her the kick that she needed to start eating healthy and working out. This time she has gone from 195 lbs to 130 lbs and is now able to run half marathons.

Since that time she has attended the Nutrition Therapy Institute in Denver, CO and started working with a group called Maximized Living who works with Olympic athletes in Colorado Springs. She has been fortunate to work with the Basketball team in Perth, Australia. She has also worked with MMA fighter Glenn Austin. Although she loves working with athletes she has been dying to work with the people that need it the most, the public. She loves speaking to the public and doing workshop in her local area of Denver and world wide.

She has published the book Heidi’s Healthy Habits which contains recipes to help people transition from eating unhealthy foods to easy and delicious healthy foods. Her goal is to open a center for healing and health in Costa Rica where people will be able to start their journey to health in a fun and creative way. “People need to know how and what to eat because no one is actively educating us about what’s in the food we eat. Not to mention it feels GREAT to be healthy and active, I would know going from where I have been to where I am now” she boasts. With the epidemic of obesity spreading there is no better time to take charge of what we are eating. “This is a topic very close to my heart because I know how painful it can be to be overweight with your health suffering. If we don’t have our health, everything else in our life suffers.”

Heidi loves traveling, doing service projects, laughing, playing sports, being outside, surfing, putting a smile on other peoples faces, committing random acts of kindness, inspiring people, having fun, taking wine tours, swimming, working out, hiking, biking and spending time with her friends and family.
