ABOUT THIS EVENT

Event Overview

Local Goods Chicago artist Cat Painter has perfected her technique with fabric paint. From her popular aprons, tote bags, and table linens which feature the Chicago flag's iconic red stars, to custom items such as table runners featuring a starry sky and aprons based on the California flag, she has mastered this tricky medium.

Now you can literally see Cat Painter painting. Join Cat at Local Goods Chicago for a demonstration of working with fabric paint on Saturday, October 17 at 11 am or 12 noon. She'll show you how she creates permanent, flexible art work on fabric and share her tips for achieving the look you want. She'll have sample fabric, select colors of paint, and other materials on hand for practice, and you are welcome to bring an item of your own to decorate.

Two Sessions: 11AM or 12 Noon, Limited seating

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Cat Painter has sewn since very young and loves finding creative solutions. Made by Cat Painter grew out of her passion (compulsion?) for creating useful things out of clothes and other fabric that outlived its original use. A related habit of tinkering with and re-making things she like, turning them into things she loves, comes into play here too.

Her favorite things are attractive, clever and built to last!
