Get ready to dabble in the art of sewing!
Sewing is an extremely valuable tool you can use throughout your life. Whether you were taught the basics at a young age or have never threaded a needle in your life, this class is perfect for beginners or for those needing a refresher course.
In this 3 hour course, you will learn:
- important sewing vocabulary
- setting up a sewing machine
- fabric, patterns, cutting and ironing
- sewing on a machine
You will then have the opportunity to practically apply the skills you've developed by making your very own tote bag made from eco-friendly fabric!
All supplies & materials will be provided. (Please let me know in advance if you would like to bring your own sewing machine)
This class will take place at the 22|44 Studio in West Fulton Market. The studio is part of a shared working/creative space so limited number of spots are available.

Ruthie has a degree in fashion design from Columbia College Chicago.
She is the co-founder of TwentyTwo|FortyFour, a social enterprise whose mission is to create quality products that better the earth and those who live in it.
