Event Overview

Do you just want to come and try something new, hang out, and have fun?

You'll leave with something that you can wear when you go to the grocery store, do random errands, or wear and feel like a total boss in! Come and sign up to make your homemade skirt! I'd love to meet you.
----------------------

Broke? So am I.
Ever wanted to learn how to make your own clothes because you were broke (or wanted to feel fulfilled without adopting a cat)? So did I.

Ever thought you were "bad at it," or making a piece of clothing seemed daunting because "what if I mess it up?" So did I.

After a couple practice skirts, I figured out that it doesn't really matter how many horrible stitches or cuts in the fabric or liberal use of superglue you needed to put your item together. If it fits, wear it.

This is where you can try (the keyword is try) to create your own skirt with me! I'll show you how to make one of these bad boys/bad girls:

Just show up with your good attitude.
If you don't want to use one of my supplied fabrics, please feel free to bring your own or bring a skirt that you want repurposed/reworked!

BYOB (cause why not?)
If you're lucky I might lead the class in my fake Australian accent.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

I've been repurposing clothes from thrift stores for about 2 years now as a hobby, and last year I started to dive into creating my own clothes, from scratch, using big ol' pieces of fabric. Literally, I made a skirt out of an old lace curtain that I found in my university's "Freecycle" (read: put stuff you don't want in this box for other people to take before it turns into garbage).

Because why would you pay $20-$30 for something you can make yourself for almost free?
